A ki’ri ewu lo’san! There are certain animals that you simply don’t expect to come across in daytime, it has pleased the God of creation to order it so. Certain animals do not have optimal vision in daytime, and they either hunt or forage whilst other animals would slumber. When these are seen in the light of day, the ancient ones would know, that something is amiss and not right, for it is rather like seeing an elephant in flight; simply impossicant. But we all saw one in full flight the other day. 

Commodore Kayode Olawunmi is one such animal. He was by his own admission, a spook in the services of the Nigerian state. He was by his own admission, a commissioned killer for the Nigerian state. His type are rarely seen, and when seen, they are almost never heard. In the rarefied world of military intelligence, his like do not exist, are rarely acknowledged, and he would be the first of his type to speak to the Nigerian people in the manner of his recent expository interview. 

The commodore said absolutely nothing that Mazi Nnamdi Kanu had not said before, and he also provided ample corroboration for the strident alarms that Dr. Obadiah Mai-Lafia has been raising. The commodore said extremely little that we have not suspected for a while, but the commodore is not MNK, and he is certainly not Obadiah Mai Lafia. The commodore was a member of the inner sanctum of the Nigeria power dynamics for a period of time. I have myself said several times, that there would appear to be a well funded destabilization plot against the Nigerian state, which enjoys top level support from the presidency.

The genie is out of the bottle, and the sole question left to those of us uninterested in traveling to Kabul with this regime, is what should be done in response to the clear and obvious dangers, and what should we do with the knowledge that we have?

When a nocturnal animal is seen in daytime, it is almost always because something beyond it has forced it out of its den. It might very well be due to some seismic activities, or it might have been disoriented by some unusual changes in its natural circumstances, but the wise would move beyond the shock to wonder at the why. It is important that we critically examine ourselves and ask this important question; what brought the spook into the Channels TV studios, and exactly what loosened his tongue? These are the questions that should guide our assessments of his unusual appearance. 

Nigeria is at war. The Nigerian state is under concerted attacks by well armed and state protected terrorists. The Buharist regime is complicit in these attacks, and the security forces have been left prostrate by a combination of ethnoreligious compromises, and have been ineffectual in meeting the challenges posed by these terrorists. The clear intention is to islamize the country, and the president is complicit in this enterprise. These are the essential kernels of the good commodore’s submissions, and it is now up to us to determine our own response to these clear existential threats. The commodore has done his own duty.
